PROGRAM 1

Creating Powerful Presence

through the Art of Conversation

You have to shape your message so that the audience is immediately interested. You must have a dynamic opening that makes the audience want to listen to the body of your presentation, and your closing must be memorable.

I believe the framing of a presentation is very useful, it gives me a structured way to approach my topics and convey information in a way that sticks with the audience.
The whole message is what I needed. I had bits and pieces, but didn’t know how to put it all together. I am confident that with practice I will shine when presenting and getting buy in from stakeholders. A wonderful addition to my professional ‘tool belt.’

Harmonizing your expression with your message is the basis of earning trust.

How you use your body and voice to communicate your intention, be it in person or in the virtual realm, determines whether your audience buys in to what you are saying or tunes you out.

Energy and Mindset form a two-way street. We work to remove the element of guesswork from whether you will sink or swim in the most critical and unpredictable moment of all – the moment you enter the room, walk onto stage or turn on your webcam to deliver a high stakes presentation.

Really a helpful training, one of the best I have participated in where relevant feedback and coaching were provided in real time with opportunity to incorporate. The Seydways team’s experience and expertise in this space + their working knowledge of our company’s culture was impactful.
I found the ideas on how to move away from relying on a slide deck and focusing instead on how to make my ideas specific and meaningful to the prospect or customer illuminating, as well as how to use the slides more impactfully. I felt I was controlling the deck rather than the other way around.

Nowadays it seems we spend our lives looking at screens. In this segment, we share how to use PowerPoint to its greatest effect. We demonstrate how to structure the message by choosing what you put on the slide, and how to deliver the message effectively through how you use your relationship to the slide to dictate the rhythm and timing of your presentation.

Working virtually can unlock efficiencies of time, effort, work/life balance and carbon footprint. However, people often don’t optimize the virtual medium. We cover lighting, sound, framing and how to make your presence powerful, empathetic and connected in the virtual realm.

Overall, the training was extremely valuable in helping build my confidence for virtual presentations. It was a great opportunity to practice with a group, and develop more ‘psychological safety’ amongst peers as each day of training progressed. I felt engaged, and the training felt personalized. I appreciate that our company invested in developing skillsets that will benefit us throughout our careers.

The human brain is wired for stories because visual and emotional triggers create strong memories. We share with the participants what makes a story sticky, namely details, emotion and mystery. We teach how to pick a story for a business setting and how to structure the story to make it relevant and carry truth.

It was surprising how powerful it was when my fellow participants told stories using the guidelines the Seydways team provided. From now on I will include relevant stories to heighten engagement and bring home the key points.

Often we find that belief systems that may have served us in the past are hindering us in the present. How do we identify limiting beliefs? How do we turn them into empowering beliefs? This is the key to unlocking our most latent, and sometimes most potent, potential.

Beyond the content of the training, perhaps the most valuable thing I got out of this experience was the way in which feedback was delivered to us by the Seydways team. Their style was honest, constructive and thoughtful, often helping us see the positives in our challenges. I really enjoyed the training and l’m grateful for the opportunity to have participated in it. I feel that the skills that I learned will be useful for the rest of my life.
